On April 23, Mercury Baypark Arena came alive as hundreds of Pacific students from across the Bay of Plenty gathered for the Pasifika Navigators of Tomorrow Career Expo.
Under the theme “If you can see it, you can be it”, the event created a powerful space for connection, inspiration, and possibility — where students met professionals from a wide range of industries and saw firsthand the many pathways available to them.
Across the day, up to 600 students engaged with exhibitors, asked questions, shared stories, and explored futures in health, trades, business, tech, and more. The impact was clear: representation matters, and seeing people who reflect their own backgrounds opens doors to new ambition.
As organiser Aifai Esera shared, the goal is simple but powerful — to broaden horizons and show young Pacific people that their potential is not limited by stereotypes, but expanded by opportunity.
This event was made possible through collaboration, community, and a shared commitment to uplifting the next generation.
